We left Thursday morning… for a 3hr. and 27 min. trip up to the Adirondack Mountains of NY. We were in the small town of Eagle Bay, 194 miles away from Rochester, where my friend Eileen and I spend a long weekend every July. We left a day earlier this year just to have more time to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
The weather was much warmer up there than it usually gets… it was in the mid 80′s on Thursday, but it cooled down a bit on Friday and the overnight rain made for a very pleasant Saturday. We were able to got to the town of Inlet about 6 miles north to do some shopping, though I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for.
We headed home Sunday after lunch.
It was great fun!
As I said in an earlier post…
we were having beautiful weather…
in the low to mid 80′s… low dew point…
that was… through last night that is!
TODAY
It’s 90°…
and very sunny…
The dew point is 69°
that makes it very
*
intolorable
*
unbearable
*
impossible
*
unsupportable!
I’m not happy…
I’m sticky!
We put the air conditioner is in the bedroom…
sleeping will be good..
Are you having a good day?
My youngest son Nick was diagnosed today with Ulcerative Colitis, which is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and usually affects only the innermost lining of your large intestine (colon) and rectum.
No one is quite sure what triggers it, though current thinking focuses on the following possibilities:
§ Immune system. Some scientists think a virus or bacterium may trigger ulcerative colitis. The digestive tract becomes inflamed when your immune system tries to fight off the invading microorganism (pathogen). It’s also possible that inflammation may stem from an autoimmune reaction in which your body mounts an immune response even though no pathogen is present.
§ Heredity. Because you’re more likely to develop ulcerative colitis if you have a parent or sibling with the disease, scientists suspect that genetic makeup may play a contributing role.
There’s no known cure for ulcerative colitis, but therapies are available that may dramatically reduce the signs and symptoms and even bring about a long-term remission.
